The Swans Sub 60 combines contradictory qualities. Despite compact design, this active subwoofer is able to reproduce extremely low frequencies with strong sound pressure and convincing momentum. The down-firing passive membrane and the direct beaming long throw-chassis allow a very even distribution of sound waves throughout the room without loosing any impulse accuracy. The passive membrane construction effectively prevents unwanted port noise of the usual bass-reflex constructions while effectively increasing the bass-making surface membrane. The speaker cabinet is very complex, designed to reduce the amount of vibrational stress and to keep standing waves to a minimum.

In the Sub200A, two opposed 25cm long-throw chassis work onto a closed cabinet volume. This logical arrangement eliminates, because of the perfect balance of moving masses, almost any cabinet vibrations completely, and provides a uniform sound dispersion throughout the listening room. The large surface membrane of the two drivers allows very high pressure levels and an impressive dynamics. Thanks to the oversize power supply and the very high damping factor of the integrated amplifier, the Sub200 plays very fast and can be combined with small satellites as well as full-grown speakers. Despite its size, the acoustically-transparent cloth covered enclosure with its premium black piano lacquered baffle fits easily into all environments.
